This island has tranquil beaches, scenic views of phang nga bay’s limestone karsts, beautiful mangrove forests, and local fishing villages. It is also a good base to visit Hong islands, Jame Bond islands, and Nok Island.

Best areas to stay in Koh Yao Noi
Most of the accommodations and tourist amenities in Koh Yao Noi are located on the south east coast and inside the main village. There are several resorts and guest houses scattered along the west coast.

There are four main areas to stay in Koh Yao Noi. These include Klong Jark Beach, Pasai Beach, Tha Khao Beach, and the main village. If you want easy access to a range of restaurants and shops, you should stay in these areas on the south of Yao Noi.
If you want a remote feel, away from it all, you can find several resorts on the north west coast from Thatondo Fisherman Village to Kian Bay. There are also a couple of isolated resorts on the far north east coast where you can stay, disconnect and spend time with yourself.
Koh Yao Noi is a small island, around 12 km long and 4 km wide (about half the size of Koh Yao Yai). To explore all the islands, it is best to rent a scooter. The main road is relatively flat, making it easy to get around.
If you don’t plan to rent a scooter, I recommend staying somewhere between Pasai Beach and Klong Jark Beach for easy walking distance to the beach and the amenities of both areas.
If you have a lower budget, you can find some cheap guest houses and hostels in the main village, which is a bit further away from the beaches.
My top hotel picks in Koh Yao Noi:
- Luxury: Six Senses Yao Noi
- Mid-range: Laguna Villas Boutique Hotel
- Budget: Bang Mee Homestay Koh Yao Noi

Tha Khao is home to several local attractions like Thakow Waterfall, The White Bridge, Hornbill view point, and two hidden beaches near the hornbill viewpoint.

You can find a Batik shop near Tha Khao Pier where you can take a workshop to learn about the island’s tradition of fabric painting on picture, scarf, and sarong.
I highly recommend checking out the Hornbill view point. The viewpoint has good views of Phang Nga Bay and from this viewpoint, you can head down to two hidden beaches.
