The major transport in Koh Lanta is local taxis, which include tuk tuk and open pick up truck songthaews. There are no buses or riding share services like Grab, Bolt, or InDrive on the island. So to get to Klong Dao Beach, you’ll likely need to use local taxis or rent a scooter.
Renting a scooter is the cheapest way to explore the island. You can pay 250-300 baht for rent a day to explore everything at your own pace. The road is relatively flat and in good condition, so it’s quite easy to drive if you have a valid license and experience.

Klong Dao is a good spot for swimming, sunbathing, and taking a stroll along the long stretch of sand. The beach has shallow water, which makes it a family-friendly beach. It’s swimmable at both low tide and high tide, especially for the northern part of the beach.

It’s a lovely place to take a stroll along the beach on its flat and sandy shore. It takes around 1 hour to walk from one end to another.
I didn’t see many sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, just a few belonging to some beachfront resorts and hotels for their guests. There are trees along the shores but usually on the lands of resorts, so practically no shade along the beach, unless you stay at the resort.
