Ao Muong Beach, also known as Ao Muang Beach, is a serene beach on the south west coast of Koh Yao Yai. The beach has a tranquil atmosphere, calm water, and lots of shade, making it a great spot for relaxing and unwind.
Ao Muang is around 445m long with hillside and rocky area at the two ends of the beach. It has white fine sand and plenty of natural shades along the trees from the palm trees and tropical vegetation along the shore.
The beach has a different atmosphere at low tide and high tide. It’s best to visit at high tide for scenery, swimming, and snorkeling. At low tide, you can see a strip of small dark pebbles, rocks, and shells near the white sand shore.
At the time of my visit, there were no hotels, or resorts on the beach, just one small beach bar. The bar serves customers local Thai food, drinks, tables, beach swings, and beach chairs.
